CURRY COUNTY, Ore. - A bicyclist has died after riding into the path of a semi-truck near milepost 350 on Highway 101 on Friday afternoon.

The bicyclist has been identified as Micah Carmen Rodriguez, 25, from Brookings.

The preliminary investigation reveals that the bicyclist had ridden into the path of a semi operated by 57-year-old Robert Bailey of Coos Bay. Life Flight responded, flying the victim to Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, where he later was pronounced dead.

Highway 101 was initially closed for approximately 1 hour.

The identification of the bicyclist has not been revealed at this time.
