Bank robber made small talk with teller during crime

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A bank robber made small talk with a teller after handing her a note demanding money Wednesday, Springfield Police said.

The robber hit the Chase Bank on Q Street, located inside the Fred Meyers store just after 5 p.m.

After taking the money, the robber left the way he came in, police said.

Officers searched the area, to no avail.

The suspect is a white male adult about 5-foot-3. He was last seen wearing a blue and white flannel button-up shirt, blue jeans tucked into boots, a backwards baseball cap and dark sunglasses. He had a bandage near his left eye.
