Agate Street re-opened after bomb threat at UO campus

UO Police: Bomb threat at Agate Hall; avoid area 'until further notice'

EUGENE, Ore. - Agate Street is back open after a bomb threat caused University of Oregon Police to evacuate Agate Hall earlier on Tuesday afternoon.

UOPD says that Agate Hall will remain closed for a few more hours.

UO Police say that around 2:30 p.m. they received a call of a bomb threat at Agate Hall.

Police then closed off Agate Street from 15th to 18th Avenue for about an hour and a half, evacuating around a couple hundred students and faculty who were inside the building.

A SWAT team searched the building, but police say no device was found.

Police say they will remain on the scene until at least 7 p.m. on Tuesday, allowing those who were in the building today to retrieve their belongings.

This case is still developing, and we will bring you more information as it is made available. For now, anyone with information is asked to contact the University of Oregon Police Department.
