Ryan Lochte has been offered a deal to clear his name over his infamous gas station incident during the 2016 Rio Olympics.

According to TMZ, unnamed law enforcement sources claim they offered the swimmer a deal to pay 70,000 reals - which comes to a little over $20,000.

Lochte's lawyer would not confirm the deal to TMZ.

The olympian apologized in August on Instagram for his role at a Rio gas station with three other teammates. He originally told NBC's Billy Bush that the group was robbed at gunpoint.

Brazilian authorities disputed that claim, as surveillance footage from the incident, the Olympic village, and witness statements told a different story.

They charged Lochte with falsely reporting a crime.

He was suspended from U.S. Swimming for 10 months.

Lochte later joined "Dancing with the Stars" and has since gotten engaged to Playboy's Kayla Rae Reid.
