A video edited to show Andy Griffith advising a distressed Cam Newton had Facebook users cracking up on Tuesday evening, placing the TV Stars name on the list of the social media site's tending topics.

In the video, the TV character talks to the NFL Star about losing, poking-fun at Newton's now famed post-Superbowl press, conference in which he walked away from reporters. It has quickly gained attention and been viewed more than 5.2 million times.

As the Associated Press reported, Newton has been widely criticized for walking out of the three-minute press conference after a 24-10 loss to the Denver Broncos.

Newton said he believes the situation is being overblown by the media, and added he doesn't plan to change how he reacts to losing just to appease his critics.

"Show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser," the Associated Press quoted Newton saying Tuesday as players cleaned out their lockers at the team's downtown stadium.
