WATCH: Goldendoodle puppy, man skate on Tennessee pond during cold snap

(Fox 17 News)

Thanks to a couple days of temperatures below freezing, Nathan DeVries and his dog Fisher went for a skate on their shallow pond at the family's Pickett County farm.

Richard DeVries, owner of The Farm at East Port Marina, said his son Nathan took 5-month-old Fisher out on the shallow pond. As you can see, Nathan and Fisher are loving this cold weather.

He stressed that the pond is only about a foot deep, and they tested the ice with a truck before skating on it.

Richard said the family named the pup Fisher after former Nashville Predators captain Mike Fisher and because their family owns a marina.

They've owned the 90-acre property for 10 years but recently decided to add a wedding venue too. The Farm at East Port Marina will host its first wedding this spring.
