Last Saturday, September 2, a Seven Eleven employee was shot at the East Broadway location in Eugene.

Eugene Police have confirmed on Wednesday that the clerk, identified as Stephen Forrest, succumbed to his injuries.

Our station spoke with Forrest’s mother, Amber Deyo.

"I don't...I don't- I guess I question, it didn't really make [sense], what was he thinking?” Deyo said about the suspect, 22-year-old Jaisi Tavan Savath. “He wasn't thinking, he's so...I mean of course I feel rage, but he's so young."

Savath turned himself in to the police on Wednesday, September 6, and was arraigned the following day. He now faces felony charges of second-degree murder.
