Monthly:

  • Alcoholics Anonymous – Meets Mondays, 6 – 7 p.m. Conference Room C, Mercy Medical Center, 2700 Stewart Parkway, free. Please call 541-677-4810 for more information.
  • Blood Pressure Screening – Take care of your health; have your blood pressure checked. The Mercy Medical Center Volunteer Counsel provides these free screenings. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., YMCA. For more information, please call 541-677-4464.
  • Children’s Bereavement Support “Walk About Hooves” – The “Walk About Hooves” program, sponsored by Mercy Foundation, is bringing a new and exciting resource to our Douglas County children. Mercy Foundation is partnering with “Walk About Hooves” to bring Equine Assisted Learning to Douglas County families who have experienced a loss. FREE Yoga Class

Alli and friends are teaching FREE yoga at Stewart Park this summer on the lawn east of the Halfshell stage. Come join the fun and meet new friends.

Plan to arrive a few minutes early to sign in and be ready to start at 10:00 am. You will need to bring a yoga mat and/or a blanket and a strap / tie / belt. Wear comfy / stretchy clothing. It’s recommended.

4th Annual Oakland Quilt Show

Call for Quilts | September 5 | Noon - 7:00 PM

Join in the fun and enter your quilt in the 4th Annual Oakland Quilt Show scheduled for September 8 and 9 in Historic Downtown Oakland. Quilts for display will be accepted at The Historic Washington School. Quilt prizes include People's Choice, Mayor’s Choice and Chairpersons’ Choice. Winners receive gift baskets with gift certificates and vouchers at quilt merchants such as Missouri Star Quilt Co., Superior Thread, Richie’s Sewing and Vacuum, Nancy’s Notions and Leah Day Designs.

The charge to enter up to three quilts is $5. Quilts made by kids 15 and under are free. The show is sponsored by Oakland Economic Development and the City of Oakland.

Walk to End Alzheimer's - Roseburg
