Sheriff: Bus driver suffers medical issue, crashes into Salem-area home

SALEM, Ore. - A bus driver suffered a medical issue Monday and crashed the vehicle into a house, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

The driver was taken to the hospital. His condition is not known, the sheriff's office said.

No one inside the home was injured.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the 4700 block of Fuhrer Street NE.

The Cherry Lift bus went off the road and hit a house. The bus is part of the Cherriots bus system, providing point-to-point services for people whose disabilities prevent them from using the Cherriot bus.
