The father and stepmother of a 14-year-old girl who died in a rollover crash earlier this year have been charged after deputies say they were arguing and punching each other prior to the crash.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says James D. Barnes and Jordan E. Jamison have been charged with felony injury to a child and misdemeanor domestic battery.

Detectives say Jamison, who was driving, and Barnes started arguing and hitting each other when Jamison lost control of her Ford Explorer on Black Cat Road in March.

Autumn Barnes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle and later died from her injuries.

The sheriff's office says evidence indicates that Jamison had meth in her system at the time of the crash. James Barnes was released from jail Tuesday afternoon after posting a $75,000 bond.

Jamison remains in jail and is expected to make her initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
