Police: Drunken driver crashed car into curb, broke both axles

LEBANON, Ore. - A drunken driver speeding around a corner crashed his car into the curb, breaking the front and back axles on the driver's side of the car, Lebanon Police said.

An officer arrested Ryan Timothy Nugent, 23, on charges of DUII and Reckless Driving, police said. Police cited and released Nugent to appear in court.

The investigation started when an officer saw a car speeding near Milton and Hiatt streets in Lebanon around 10:49 p.m., police said.

As the car rounded the corner of Milton and Williams streets, the driver lost control and crashed into the curb, breaking both axles, police said.

"There was no damage to the curb, roadway or sidewalk," police said in a report, "but the car was damaged to the point where it was not drivable."
