Police close portion of Beltline after report of man 'jumping in and out of the traffic'

"Westbound Beltline from Division Avenue to River Avenue is shut down as police respond to a man who has been jumping in and out of the traffic lanes," Eugene Police said at 10:46 a.m. Monday.

EUGENE, Ore. - Police shut down a stretch of the Beltline on Monday after reports of a man "jumping in and out of the traffic lanes."

Police got a call about the situation at 10:17 a.m.

A notice went out by email to local media at 10:46 a.m. announcing the closure.

"Westbound Beltline from Division Avenue to River Avenue is shut down as police respond to a man who has been jumping in and out of the traffic lanes," Eugene Police said.

Officers took the 35-year-old man into custody at 10:47 a.m. He was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

The road was back open shortly after 11 a.m.
