Oregon woman killed in head-on crash on Hwy 101

ASTORIA, Ore. - A Seaside woman died and an Astoria man suffered serious injuries in a head-on crash on Highway 101 early Saturday morning, Oregon State Police said.

The crash claimed the life of 27-year-old Kayla Lynn Weber.

Christopher Jeremy Costa, 23, was taken by helicopter to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries, police said.

State police responded to the crash at 2:29 a.m. June 10.

The preliminary investigation found that Costa's 1984 Chevy pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed head-on into Weber's 2001 Toyota Camry.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, state police said.
