PORTLAND, Ore. – Two Portland Police officers were injured in Southeast Portland early Monday morning when their patrol car was hit by a driver who ran a red light.

The officers were taken to the hospital; one suffered minor injuries while the other was evaluated as a precaution.

According to police, the officers were responding to a call on S.E. 82nd Avenue when they were hit by a driver who ran a red light at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Flavel Street.

Two women got out of the other car and started running after the crash, police said. Other officers heading to the incident on 82nd Avenue stopped and detained both of the women.

The driver, 24-year-old Laquonda Fuller-Hudson, was later cited for hit-and-run and reckless driving. Both women were released at the scene.

This is a developing story; updates will be posted as information comes in.
