Grants Pass woman dies in accident

A 40-year-old Grants Pass woman is dead after she crashing her car off the road while turning a sharp corner.

Oregon State Police say, April Otis was found slumped over the wheel along state route 260 also known as Riverbanks Road Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities say, Otis was headed west at mile marker 19 when she went off the road and traveled nearly 200 feet through trees and brush with no seat belt.

Grants Pass Department of Public Safety had received a report on Monday of Otis driving under the influence following a domestic fight.

Otis had been reported to had made suicidal statements at that time.
