KENT, Wash. - An 83-year-old Kent man was killed Thursday in a rollover crash involving two vehicles near a busy Kent intersection, police said. Excessive speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.

Officers and medics responded Washington Avenue North and West Meeker Street about 11:25 a.m. after receiving reports of a serious accident.

Two wrecked vehicles - a mangled Honda and a rolled-over SUV - were found at the scene.

Police and firefighter tried life-saving efforts on the man in the Honda, but he died.

The other driver, a 70-year-old Federal Way woman, was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Police say one of the vehicles was going east on Meeker and collided with the other vehicle, which had been going west and was making a left turn on Washington Avenue North

Roads in the area opened just before 3:30 p.m.
