EUGENE, Ore. - Marcus Mariota stopped by Oregon football practice on Monday to give a speech.

Among the ongoing storylines in spring practice is leadership.

Current players and coaches have said that last year's ducks team lacked that leadership and accountability necessary to be successful.

They're still looking to establish leaders before the season begins.

The Oregon Ducks concluded their fourth practice of the spring Monday inside the Moshofsky Center.

"I think you see a lot more leading by example right now than anything," Coach Willie Taggart said. "I think as we continue to go, and grow. The leadership that we want will come. That'll happen throughout spring ball."

The players are taking it on themselves to provide what the team needs, on field and off.

"I've got to step up and be a big time leader, playing inside backer and starting and all that good stuff," sophomore linebacker Troy Dye said. "So I need to step up and just become the captain of the defense and lead from that way and go from there and hope the other guys follow behind me and every guy on this team needs to become a leader in their own way."
