Hometown Athlete of the Week: Baylee Wyscaver
ROSEBURG, Ore. - By her own admission, "shy" used to be an accurate term to describe Roseburg's Baylee Wyscaver.
As a four-year starter, Wyscaver has developed from a timid freshman into the vocal and emotional leader of the Indians' softball team.
"I've done a lot better this year. I'm typically super shy and don't talk, but I've done better on being more vocal and helping people out," Wyscaver said. "Even outside of softball I try to help people as much as I can."
This year, more than any, her veteran guidance is needed. Roseburg only starts 2 seniors in its starting lineup, Wyscaver being one of them.
"The girls follow her, we only have a couple other upperclassmenwe actually start four freshman on this team. So, her leadership has been so valuable this year," head coach Tony Campos said.
Wyscaver has earned a scholarship to play collegiate softball at the Oregon Institute of Technology.
