After the Whistle: Reporter who broke Luke Heimlich story joins the show

Luke Heimlich (SBG)

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregonian reporter who broke the story about a star Oregon State pitcher's sex crime conviction joined After the Whistle live to discuss the story.

Danny Moran joined the show to discuss how Luke Heimlich's past came to light - and its implications for college sports.

Travis Teich and Hayden Herrera tackle the topic, discussing:

  • How coach Pat Casey has handled the news.
  • Should Heimlich pitch? What message would it send if Heimlich had pitched? What message was sent when he pulled himself from playing?
  • Would he have ever been allowed on the team/play if he wasn’t a 1st-team All-American?

With or without Heimlich, a talented Beaver baseball team is headed for the College World Series.

TRACK & FIELD

The Oregon women pulled off an unprecedented feat: winning the cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field NCAA in a single year.

Chris Hansen, track and field reporter from The Register-Guard, joins the show to discuss the landmark Duck performance.
