Softball: Will the winning streak continue in 2015 regional tournament?

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon Ducks Softball Team hasn't lost a regional game since 2008. Now as the players head into their first regional tournament game at 5 p.m., they hope this streak continues.

In their last five regional appearances, the Ducks maintained a perfect 15-0 record.

Thursday night they take on Brigham Young University. These two teams did not meet during the regular 2015 season. But last year, the Cougars were one of the few teams to beat the Ducks.

Throughout the day, loyal softball fans lined up outside Howe Field waiting for the games to begin.

Lollie Troutt was at the gates at 11 a.m. The wait didn't bother her, she said she was having a blast hanging out with other fans, and there was no way she was going to miss the game.

"You got to, come on, man, it's the Ducks! You got to cheer them on. Plus they're women softball, all women sports. I think a lot of time we forget about the women sports. So I'm all about supporting the women sports whether it's soccer, softball, anything like that," she said.

Many Duck fans shared her excitement to watch the talented team in green and yellow take the diamond.
