Woman in need of double transplant looks to community for help
Central Point, Ore. - In August, News 10 first brought you Janae Wadley's story. Wadley was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 17-months-old and now, she needs a kidney and pancreas transplant to survive.
Wadley got a call Tuesday night that a match for both organs may have been found. Unfortunately, Wadley still needs to try and raise more than $20,000 to pay for travel and post-surgery expenses. Wadley will have to live in or near Portland for three months after the transplant instead of living at home in Central Point.
Wadley sees the silver lining of the situation though and has renewed hope in her situation.
"It's very hopeful," Wadley said. "Just everybody that has an issue, don't ever give up on hope because good things happen."
