Police: Coos Bay man with stolen checks arrested on warrant out of Douglas County
NORTH BEND, Ore. -- A Coos County Sheriff’s deputy this week recognized 36-year-old Coos Bay man Adam F. Rodgers walking westbound on Newmark in North Bend.
After a records check, the deputy learned Rodgers had an active warrant out for his arrest for a parole violation out of Douglas County.
He was taken into custody without incident.
A North Bend Police officer arrived and, upon a consent search of Rodgers' backpack, discovered four stolen checkbooks, police said.
The officer happened to be the investigating officer for two of the stolen checkbooks, the report said, and two of the stolen checkbooks were seized.
The other two stolen checkbooks were seized for further investigation by the deputy.
Rodgers was transported to the Coos County Jail on the warrant and held without bail.
