Police arrest Roseburg transients during burglary investigation
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Police in Roseburg arrested two transients Sunday after investigating a report of suspicious activity in the Riverside area.
Around 2 p.m., residents in the 400 block of Riverside reported suspicious people on their property.
During the investigation, police determined 41-year-old Jason Rynel Trotter had burglarized a home nearby and stolen a large amount of property, the report said.
Police say Trotter and 29-year-old Cirith Bronwen Ellenwood were identified as suspects and arrested.
Stolen property was recovered during the investigation, police said.
Trotter was charged with first degree burglary, two counts of first degree theft and felon in possession of a firearm.
Ellenwood was charged with a probation violation.
They were both lodged at the Douglas County Jail.
