ROSEBURG, Ore. – The Oak Avenue Bridge will be closed to traffic from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Wednesday night, June 14, to allow workers to resurface the bridge deck, Oregon DOT said.

A detour will be in place. During the 12-hour closure, the Washington Avenue Bridge will carry two-way traffic. Flaggers will be located at each end of the bridge to provide traffic control.

Motorists should expect congestion and delays, particularly during the Thursday morning commute.

They say to watch for single-lane closures on both bridges and throughout the work zone at other times.

Construction may require additional nighttime closures of the Oak and Washington Avenue Bridges the next two weeks, officials say.

The work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change without notice.
