No one injured as fire sends up black smoke, explosions in Roseburg
ROSEBURG, Ore. - Neighbors reported hearing explosions and seeing black smoke Wednesday as firefighters responded to a house fire, the Roseburg Fire Department said.
No one was injured. The fire at 2743 W. Sharp Avenue caused an estimated $92,000 in damage.
"Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fully involved detached garage spreading to the nearby residential structure," the fire department said in a report. "The fire also caused minor damage to a vehicle and second garage that were east of the primary fire. The home sustained heavy structural and water damage. Residents were displaced; however, no one was injured in the fire."
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Firefighters received help at the scene from Oregon State Police, Roseburg Police Department, Bay Cities Ambulance, Pacific Power, and Avista Utilities.
