ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Douglas County community and local law enforcement joined to pay tribute to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.

About 30 men and women in uniform gathered in front of the Douglas County Courthouse for the Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony.

The American flag was flown at half-staff and bag pipes played to honor fallen officers.

"It's very humbling to see the turnout that was here today with the members of the public and the other emergency responders that came today," said Sgt. Brad O’Dell with Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.

The memorial specifically honored five fallen officers from the Sheriff’s Office and Roseburg Police Department.
