Man gets nearly 6 years in prison for stabbing high school student in NE Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. —
A 38-year-old man has been sentenced to 70 months, or nearly 6 years, in prison for stabbing a teenager near Benson High School earlier this year.
The stabbing was reported around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 at NE 9th Avenue and Flanders Street.
Police say the suspect, Carlos Nampula-Cruz, tried to stab one person, stabbed the teenager, threatened to stab a third individual, threw a brick through a car window and kicked a car door, all before he was arrested.
He was charged with assault, criminal mischief and unlawful use of weapon.
Friday, he was sentenced to 70 months in prison.
