Seattle police to public: Help us find suspect accused of lighting man on fire

SEATTLE - Police are asking for the public's help in locating a man suspected of setting another man on fire Tuesday night in the Seattle's Fremont neighborhood.

The suspect, identified as Christopher Burrus, 31, is accused of dousing the the 39-year-old victim with a flammable liquid before setting him ablaze, said Patrick Michaud of the Seattle police.

According to earlier reports, a passerby discovered the man on fire and called 911 just after 7 p.m. in the 4500 block of Leary Way Northwest. The passerby put out the flames and waited for Seattle medics, police said.

The victim was then taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

Anyone who has seen Burrus or who has information on his whereabouts is cautioned not to approach him and call 911 immediately.
