Facebook Safety Check sent to users far away from Pakistan bombing
Many people across the world received a Facebook Safety Check Sunday after the Pakistan bombing.
Several Facebook users, including people in Oregon, who weren't near the attack were surprised to see the Facebook message asking, "Are you affected by the explosion?"
Facebook activated a Safety Check after learning of the bombing that killed dozens. However, they say the feature didn't work properly.
Many confused Facebook users responded saying they were alright, but wondered why they were prompted.
Facebook says it's not sure how widespread the issue was, but it appeared users in the U.S. and UK were affected the most.
The social media site issued an apology for the confusion.
