Boise family mourning death of family member in Barcelona
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
A family in Boise never thought terrorism would affect them here in the City of Trees.
Tragically, that is exactly what happened when terrorists drove a van into crowds of people in Barcelona on Thursday.
One American was among the 14 reported killed in the attack. Jared Tucker, 42, from California.
Uncle Jared to one Boise woman.
Tucker was reportedly in Barcelona celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife, Heidi.
Carissa Steinburg and her family gave KBOI 2News a statement about what happened:
"We spent all night searching, calling, and praying for a miracle after recognizing Jared from the pictures of the attack online.
You never think terrorism will be something that will affect YOUR family. We are in complete shock over this devastating news.
Our family is in mourning and half of us will be traveling to California to be with the family.
Any donations to help his wife and three daughters, and funeral costs would be greatly appreciated."
The family has put up a Gofundme page to help Jared's wife and three children: https://www.gofundme.com/jared-tucker-funeral-family-help
