AMBER ALERT: 2 girls remain missing after mother found dead
SAN ANTONIO (KABB/WOAI) - Investigators say two children who were apparently abducted from their home in Round Rock may have been taken across state lines.
An Amber Alert remained in effect Tuesday for Luluvioletta Mariposo Bandera-Magret, 7, and Lilianais Victoria Cake Griffith, 14.
The Round Rock Police Department says the young girls could be with Terry Allen Miles, a person of interest in the death of the children's mother, Tonya Bates.
Bates was found dead inside her home on Dec. 30. Her boyfriend and a co-worker called police to check on her when they didn't hear from her.
Miles is described as 44 years old, 6-foot-2, weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair, hazel eyes and a beard. He also wears glasses and drives a 2017 Hyundai Accent with Texas license plate JGH 9845. The car has a hatchback with a white sticker on the upper-right corner of the rear window.
Investigators said Miles was Bates' roommate.
As for the missing girls and Miles, the last possible sighting may have been in northern New Mexico and southern Colorado, according to people close to the investigation.
