13-year-old rolls truck off road, appears to walk away uninjured
VERNAL, Utah (KUTV) Sunday morning a 13-year-old boy rolled a Ford F150 pickup on SR-40 near milepost 139.
Officials say that the boy had been asked by his aunt to drive the vehicle from Vernal to Fort Duschesne, a twenty-five mile journey, to drop off the pickup at her house.
The boy attempted to follow his aunt as she drove in a second vehicle, but his inexperience caused him to over-correct when the pickup began to drift off the highway. The pickup swerved back on to the roadway before rolling twice and landing on its wheels.
The juvenile, who was wearing a seat belt, appeared to be uninjured, but was transported to a local hospital as a precaution.
Charges are being screened through the Uintah County Attorney's Office.
