Two people arrested in Veneta as Explosive Disposal Unit called on scene
VENETA, Ore. - Two people were arrested on Wednesday morning after the Lane County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant on a Veneta home.
57-year-old Timothy Conn and 36-year-old Amber Koerth were arrested during the search of a home on the 87000 block of Territorial Highway. An unknown substance was also found at the house, and LCSO aired on the side of caution, calling in the explosive disposal unit.
It was later determined that the substance was not an explosive device.
This isn't the only issue that delayed a standard search warrant. LCSO also responded to information that someone was pointing a firearm at the deputies conducting the search.
"We have not found tangible evidence that somebody was point a firearm at a deputy," said Sgt. Carrie Carver. "However, I'm not sure that you can ever 100-percent rule that out, and again, we err on the side of caution."
Conn faces multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine's and identity theft. Koerth is charged with possession of meth, as well as a felon possession of a weapon.
