Suspect accused of aggravated murder to appear in court Tuesday
EUGENE, Ore. - The third and final suspect in a brutal 2012 murder case is scheduled to appear in Lane County Circuit Court Tuesday.
AJ Nelson is accused is accused of being involved in the slaying of 22-year-old Celestino Gutierrez.
Two others were already convicted in the case, including one man sentenced to death.
Prosecutors say Nelson helped torture and kill Gutierrez in August 2012. He's accused of aggravated murder.
The trial is scheduled to start Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
District Attorney Patty Perlow said the jury selection in this case could take a few weeks.
