Springfield man arrested after report of armed domestic disturbance
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A man was arrested in Springfield on Friday after police were notified of an armed domestic disturbance.
Springfield Police responded to the 4100 block of Forsythia Street shortly after 4 p.m. on Friday. Officers learned that Gregory S Hall Sr., 67, had threatened other family members with a gun and made suicidal statements.
Family evacuated, leaving the man barricaded in his home with several firearms.
Negotiators persistently spoke with the disturbed man over several hours, as he continually hung up on them while threatening violence.
A swat team secured the perimeter and conducted evacuations within the neighborhood during the standoff that ended at 7:05 when the man was arrested in front of the home.
Hall Sr. is charged with Menacing and Unlawful Use of a Weapon in connection with the incident.
