SPRINGFIELD, Ore.- A reminder from police to buckle up after a crash on 42nd street in Springfield.

Springfield Police said it happened around one thirty. The driver of the red truck told police he looked both ways before attempting to make a left turn onto 42nd street.

That's when another driver gave him a wave to make the turn, but police say the driver of the red truck forgot to look both ways again and was hit by another car.

Springfield Police Lieutenant Scott McKee said the driver told him “the seat belt saved my life, because he said I saw it coming and there was nothing I could do."

McKee said both drivers walked away from the accident uninjured.
