Spring as sprung, and farmer's markets have begun

ALBANY, Ore. - As Spring continues to bloom, Farmers Markets continue to spring up around Oregon.

On Saturday, both Corvallis and Albany kicked off their 40th annual Farmers Markets, where customers can find produce and plants from local vendors. There were about 20 vendors at the market in Albany, and more than 50 in Corvallis.

One market manager says the experience isn't just about shopping, but more so about community.

"It gives that space, it brings farmers from large and small, people of various demographics together," said Aliesje King, at the Albany Farmer's Market. "It's a space where you can get fresh produce and goods that connects you to yourself and the community at large."

The Corvallis and Albany Farmer's Markets are open until mid-November, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
