Roseburg focuses on new urban development plan
ROSEBURG, Ore. - The Roseburg City Council is focusing on the Diamond Lake Boulevard area for a new urban development.
This would include road and storm drainage projects, and the development could also help with more jobs coming into the area.
"We could accommodate light manufacturing, tech business and other types of businesses that do hire people," said Lance Colley, the Roseburg City Manager.
Along with job creation in the city, the development would address the city's housing issues.
"It's not uncommong for us to have 8 or 10 applications for a place the very first day we put it on Craigslist," said Tim Smith, with Remax Professional Realty.
For the development to come together, it will need public input for the next three to nine months from the community.
