Power pole replaced after truck crashes into it
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Several businesses and homes were without power Tuesday evening after a truck hit a power pole near the intersection of 20th Avenue and Old Franklin Boulevard in the Glenwood area.
The crash occurred at 5:06 p.m. Sgt. Mike McCarthy said the driver of the truck experienced a medical issue and lost control of the vehicle.
"There was a witness following behind him and the witness stated that the white pick-up truck just kind of drifted to the left and struck the pole," McCarthy said.
He said the driver's wife took him to the hospital as a precaution.
Traffic was detoured to 19th Avenue and Nugget Way while crews installed a new power pole. The road was closed for several hours.
