MARION COUNTY, Ore. – Two people died in a head-on crash in Marion county Saturday evening, Oregon State Police said.

According to police, the crash occurred at 5:24 p.m. on Highway 22 near milepost 41.

Investigators said William Harold Bodden, 84, of Redmond, was driving a 2007 Toyota Rav 4 westbound when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line.

William Bodden crashed into a 2008 Jeep Patriot, driven by Joyce A. Mast, 51, of Hillsboro, police said.

After the head-on collision, William Bodden’s passenger, Theresa Bodden, 77, of Redmond, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An air ambulance transported William Bodden to an area hospital, but he died while in transport.

A ground ambulance took Mast to Salem Hospital. She suffered serious injuries.

Police said Mast was the only occupant in the Jeep.
