Police: Springfield woman hospitalized after she's struck by vehicle
SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A 43-year-old Springfield woman is in the hospital following a pedestrian vs. vehicle crash in Springfield Wednesday night.
Around 9:10 p.m., Springfield police and fire departments responded to the 5000 Block of Main St. after the accident was reported.
According to witness statements, the vehicle had been traveling west on Main St. when it struck the pedestrian as she crossed Main in the marked crosswalk with the warning lights flashing, the police release said.
The pedestrian was transported to Riverbend Hospital by ambulance and was being treated for multiple broken bones.
Police said she remains in the hospital in stable condition as of 1:54 a.m.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the department’s Major Accident Investigation Team.
