SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - A burglar swiped a cash register and hundreds of vanilla air fresheners from a car wash last Friday, Springfield Police said.

Investigators released surveillance footage of the burglary on Wednesday in an attempt to identify the suspect.

Springfield Police said the break-in happened just before midnight Friday, May 5.

The burglar broke out glass in the front door, police said.

He took the entire cash register, along with 5 or 6 cases of vanilla air fresheners - some 500 to 600 individual fresheners.

Detective Brian Antone called it a "crime of opportunity," suggesting the burglar was looking for anything of value.

If you recognize the suspect, you are asked to contact Antone and the Springfield Police.
