Police officers, chef work together to bring Christmas dinner to stranded passengers
HOOD RIVER, Ore. —
About 40 Greyhound bus passengers got stranded in Hood River on Christmas Day, but they still got to enjoy an impromptu dinner with the help of several people.
The bus was headed for Boise when both of its rear tire snow chains broke, leaving dozens of passengers in the cold for Christmas dinner.
Hood River Officer Erin Mason called the Western Hood River Inn and made arrangements for Chef Mark Derasta to make meals for the passengers. A nearby gas station provided water. The officers propped up the food and served it buffet-style out of their trunks.
