Police: Man stabbed while trying to stop fight
LEBANON, Ore. - A passerby who intervened when he saw a man grab a woman outside a bar Tuesday night suffered cuts to his torso and hands when the suspect pulled a knife on him, Lebanon Police said.
Friends of the suspect disarmed him, according to witness accounts, at which point the suspect went back inside the bar and grabbed another knife.
When he was again relieved of the weapon, the man and woman left the scene.
The victim was taken to Lebanon Community Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Good Samaritan in Corvallis with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Witnesses at the scene identified the suspect to police as 26-year-old Travis Curry.
Police caught up with Curry after a report of a man and woman arguing in the Walmart parking lot, police said. The caller's description of the vehicle matched that of the vehicle Curry drove off in from the scene of the stabbing.
Police took Curry into custody and charged him with Assault II.
