Police: Klamath man arrested in Douglas County, charged with assaulting officer, trespass
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Klamath Falls man was arrested in the Green area this week after he resisted arrest and assaulted a deputy, Douglas County Sheriff's Office reports.
On Monday, February 5, deputies were called to the Love's Travel Stop in the Green District for a report of a man who had been asked to leave but refused.
The caller stated the man, identified as 36-year-old Jack Arvin Barker of Klamath Falls, had been aggressive with employees and tried to hit them.
Deputies contacted Barker in the parking lot and, as they were speaking to him, he attempted to assault one of deputies.
Barker resisted being taken into custody, police said, when one deputy attempted to deploy his taser, but was unsuccessful.
After a brief struggle, Barker was taken into custody with the assistance of bystanders.
He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on the following charges:
- Criminal Trespass II
- Resisting Arrest
- Assault on a Public Safety Officer
