EUGENE, Ore. - A Eugene man is in jail on Friday night because of theft by extortion.

Eugene Police say that 21-year-old Dylan Ray Browning was arrested for leaving a threatening note on a woman's car last night. The car was parked at The Hub Apartment Complex on Broadway Street.

A note left on the windshield demanded money, and included specific directions. Police were unable to give more details on the note, but revealed that it was threatening.

Police followed the directions of the note to then catch the suspect.

"It's a very unusual type of criminal case for us to act on, and to actually have a successful arrest in," said Lt. David Natt, with the Eugene Police. "It's just an outlier case."

Police believe this was an isolated incident, but they say if anyone else received a note like this, to give them a call.
