Pickup truck crash on Hwy 58 sends 2 people to hospital
LOWELL, Ore. - Medics pulled two people from the wreckage of a pickup truck and took them to the hospital Thursday after their vehicle crashed along Highway 58.
The identities and injuries of the man and woman in the red Ram 1500 pickup involved in the single-vehicle crash are not yet known.
Witnesses told Oregon State Police the truck was eastbound on Highway 58 at a normal speed around 2 p.m.
The truck started to fishtail for unknown reasons, then drove through the oncoming lane of traffic and collided with a guardrail.
The truck overturned and came to rest in a ditch along the highway.
Medics cut open the roof of the truck and pulled the two occupants out. Ambulances took the two people to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend.
The crash response and investigation reduced traffic to one lane controlled by flaggers.
