SWEET HOME, Ore. - Hundreds of glass ornaments have been hidden along trails on the Willamette National Forest.

People who find the ornaments can claim a prize - and be entered for a chance to win a trip for two to Washington, D.C., next December.

The contest is part of the "Find Your Trail!" Capitol Christmas Tree campaign.

Oregon has the honor of providing the 2018 Capitol Christmas Tree, along with 70 smaller trees and 8,000 ornaments.

Nominations are being accepted through June 30 for which tree on the Sweet Home Ranger District should be selected.

The tree will be cut in early November. Then it will make a 3,000-mile trip to Washington, D.C., tracing the Oregon Trail in reverse.

That's part of the "Find Your Trail!" theme: Celebrating the 175th anniversary of the Oregon Trail.

And "Find Your Trail!" is what you'll need to do to find one of the ornaments, staring May 24. | TRAILS WITH ORNAMENTS
