Organizers believe Eugene tattoo gives visitors a unique experience
EUGENE, Ore. - The Evergreen Tattoo Invitational hosts hundreds of tattoo artists that are hand-selected to attend the event.
Organizers said they look over thousands of artists' portfolios before inviting hundreds to set up booths and tattoo clients.
The three-day event has brought in crowds of people to watch or get new ink themselves.
"Your modern day art collector, they are collecting tattoos not paintings," Evergreen Tattoo Invitational co-founder, Joshua Carlton said.
Event organizers said this is the best period for the tattoo culture in decades.
"The renaissance of tattooing is happening right now," Evergreen Tattoo Invitational co-founder, Riley Smith said. "We are living through it right now."
Sunday is the last day of the expo; it runs from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.
