Linn County Sheriff: Eugene man arrested on multiple burglary charges
ALBANY, Ore. - Linn County police officers arrested a Eugene man for burglarizing an Albany residence.
According to Linn County Sheriff Bruce Riley, deputies received a call of a burglary in progress at 5:17 p.m. Saturday. Deputies went to a residence at Harnisch Drive to investigate.
The homeowner reported that while they were home, a male kicked in the back door to their residence. The homeowner confronted the suspect and he fled the scene.
Deputies identified the suspect as 20-year-old Flavio Renteria Robledo of Eugene.
The discovered Robledo stole a vehicle from a residence on Dever Conner Road. Riley says he then crashed the vehicle in a farm field and walked to the residence on Harnisch Drive.
The Sherriff Says Robledo was attempting to steal a pickup at the residence and then kicked open the back door.
When deputies responded, the suspect left the residence running across a field. Witnesses say the suspect was wearing only dark boxer shorts and shoes. The suspect ran from the residence to a nearby farm where he entered a shop and stole a second vehicle. He then drove away at a high speed.
Riley says Robledo drove to Walmart in Lebanon where he attempted to steal clothes. Officers from the Lebanon Police Department detained him while they investigated the theft.
Police lodged Robledo at the Linn County Jail on charges of burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle, criminal mischief and unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
The investigation is ongoing.
